  The 2008 Marion County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting will be August 16, 2008.  Mark your calendars and plan to spend the evening with your Farm Bureau Friends!
 


2007 Annual Meeting of Members

The Marion County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting was held August 18, 2007 in the lower level of the Marion Municipal Building Marion, Kansas. The meeting was called to order by President Terry Olsen at 7:15 p.m. The Minutes of the 2006 Annual Meeting were reviewed. A motion to accept as written was made by Roger Bartel and seconded by Kenny Nienstedt. A vote was cast and the motion carried.

President Olsen gave the Financial report. He reported total assets at the end of 2007 $79,654.08 revenues $30,843.71 expenditures $27,843.54 ending the fiscal year at a positive $3,000.17. A motion to accept the financial report was made by Kenny Nienstedt and seconded by Mike Meisinger. A vote was cast and the motion carried.

President Olsen gave the nominating report. Nominations for the 5 open seats are;  re-elect Jeanie Bartel for a second term, re-elect Mike Meisinger for a 2nd term, elect Brad Pagenkopf, elect Richard Brenzikofer and elect Diane Meisinger. Floor nominations were opened for Women’s Chair. A motion to keep nominations open until a prospective Women’s chair can be found was made by Kenny Nienstedt, seconded by Roger Bartel. Nomination for Women Chair is Diane Meisinger. The nominations for voting delegates to the KFB Annual meeting are Terry Olsen, Mike Meisinger, Kenny Nienstedt and Jeanie Bartel and alternates are Diane Meisinger and Nick Kraus. A motion to accept a unanimous ballot was made Roger Bartel and seconded by Kenny Nienstedt. A vote was cast and the motion carried.

President Olsen gave his report on the past years events with Marion County Farm Bureau. He spoke of Food Check-Out Day, Day at the Statehouse, President’s trip to Washington DC, County Scholarships, the County Fair, 4H Donations and other various events that occurred throughout the year.

Special recognition was given to the Steve and Jeanie Bartel family and presented a plaque for the 2007 Farm Family of the Year Award. Century Farm recipient was Warren Fike.

The evenings guest speaker was Congressman Jerry Moran’s Legislative Assistant Aaron Popelke. Door prizes were given out from Marion County Farm Bureau and Farm Bureau Financial Services Agents Steve Kill and Andy Stone Motion to adjourn was made by Mike Meisinger and seconded by Kenny Nienstedt. The 2007 Marion County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting was adjourned by President Terry Olsen at 8:20 p.m.
